Last year, I was in a grades 5 - 8 school, and the kids just ate these up. They
could not get enough of Darren Shan, and there were always waiting lists. I do
think that 5th grade is a little young for these, but 7th and 8th are not.
I read one, and it was gross but also good.

  Subject: Demonata: Middle School?

  Hello all,

I have the first book in the "Demonata" series by Darren Shan in my middle school
(gr. 6-8) library. I'm not sure if the rest of the books in the series are
appropriate. The reviews seem very contradictory, some put them at grades 6 & up,
others say 9 & up.

Does anyone else have these in their collection? Suggestions/Recommendations? I
do have the Cirque du Freak books and my students love them.

  Thanks,
  Teka McCabe
