Thank you to the collective brain for the suggestion of these titles. Other titles were suggested on human clones but I was looking for characters that real teens conceived through ART could relate to. (There are no human clones as of yet)! The problem with searching for these titles is that there is no subject heading (yet) for: "donor offspring--fiction" or "artificial insemination--fiction" or "reproductive technology -- offspring -- fiction" or any of the other subject terms associated with ART. I am doing this research for an article I would like to publish so if there are others out there not included here, I would love to hear from you! Here is my list of YA novels. A separate children's picture book list is to follow: Singing the Dogstar Blues By Alison Goodman Published by Viking, 2003 ISBN 0670036102, 9780670036103 261 pages Donorboy: A Novel By Brendan Halpin Published by Villard, 2004 ISBN 1400062772, 9781400062775 209 pages The Other Half of Me By Emily Franklin Published by Delacorte Press, 2007 ISBN 038573445X, 9780385734455 256 pages Perfect Girl By Mary Hogan Edition: illustrated Published by HarperCollins Publishers, 2007 ISBN 0060841087, 9780060841089 196 pages Go Figure By Jo Edwards Contributor Tamaye Perry Published by Simon and Schuster, 2007 ISBN 1416924922, 9781416924920 271 pages My So-Called Family By Courtney Sheinmel Published by Simon and Schuster, 2008 ISBN 1416957855, 9781416957850 208 pages Paternity: a story of assisted conception By Hazel E. Months passed without even thinking about being imprisoned....I had never been so truly free in my life." - Malcolm X "Some kids go to the library ... Others to the street. But they can't go to the libraries if the libraries are closed." - Officer Dombranski, NYPD "The best morals kids get from any book is just the capacity to empathize with other people, to care about the characters and their feelings. So you don’t have to write a preachy book to do that. You just have to make it a fun book with characters they care about, and they will become better people as a result." - Louis Sachar -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
