[LM_NET] Academic Awards Question

I'm seeking your help.  At our school, we have an Academic Awards Night for grades 
7 thru 12.  Each teacher nominates students from the class, and then winners are 
chosen from that based on grades.  We would like to know if other schools do 
something like this, and, if so, what rewards do you give the winners?  Last year, 
the winners were given only a certificate.  We would like to change that to 
something more substantial but not too costly.  I would appreciate your comments.
