Hi All, Sell it as a whole school activity to enhance literacy outcomes across the school - every day for 15 mins everyone downs tools including admin and office staff, canteen and volunteers, teachers and students and everyone finds a seat and reads. Such powerful role modelling! :) BC Vice President, Advocacy & Promotion, IASL: www.iasl-online.org The GiggleIT Project: www.iasl-online.org/sla/giggleIT/index.htm LIS@ECU: www.chs.ecu.edu.au/portals/LIS/index.php Australian School Library Research Project: www.chs.ecu.edu.au/portals/ASLRP/ Barbara Combes, Lecturer School of Computer and Security Science Edith Cowan University, Perth Western Australia Ph: (08) 9370 6072 Email: b.combes@ecu.edu.au "Whatever the cost of our libraries, the price is cheap compared to that of an ignorant nation." Then I read Vicki's post and she mentions all of the reasons I would give. Unless you are reading to prep for a lesson, that time is for lesson planning and collaboration. I think even just walking around your building talking with colleagues, seeing if anyone needs your help with tech or whatever, or even working on your next book order would each be a much better use of your time!
