Chris Fierbrich asked for ideas about how the kids should enter the library when arriving for class. This isn't meant as shameless self-promotion (honest!) but I'd like to recommend my book, The Library Doors, illustrated by Nadine Bernard Westcott (Upstart) as an introduction to the rules and activities of the library. It's a rewrite of the song "The Wheels on the Bus" and would make a great first weeks of school read aloud/sing aloud! I've also created a "Parts of the Book" PowerPoint to accompany it which is another great early-in-the-year activity. Look for a link to it on my webpage by clicking on Books, and then The Library Doors. http://tonibuzzeo.com/bookslibrarydoors.html Toni Toni Buzzeo, MA, MLIS <mailto:tonibuzzeo@tonibuzzeo.com> Maine Library Media Specialist of the Year Emerita Buxton, ME 04093 http://www.tonibuzzeo.com Adventure Annie Goes to Work , illustrated by Amy Wummer (Dial 2009) BRAND NEW! -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
