Dear Great Brain, I am excited to announce that my new website is up and running and available to you all to use as a search tool for finding the right book for the young readers in your school or family and friends. It's abookandahug.com. This took about 2 years to create and it's been a true labor of love (and obstacles!). I hope you'll take a minute to look at it and please, please send your feedback- all positives and constructive criticism will be equally well received. I have a wonderful team working here and we all want this to help people find the right book. So, as you use the site, let me know if it's loading well for you, if you're able to search the way you want to search, etc. Also, and this is big, we've launched with a bit over 2,000 titles and we're working madly to get more and more titles on the site. We just decided to begin. If you have favorites that we haven't included yet, please do send them along. Also, if anyone would be interested in being a contributor to the site, please contact me off list and we can work out the details. Thanks for sharing this moment with me, Barb Barb Langridge Children's Services Howard County Central Library 10375 Little Patuxent Parkway Columbia, MD 21045 410 313-7880 barb.langridge@hclibrary.org ------------------------- Original Message: From: Megan Kurtz <mkurtz@DONBOSCO.ORG> To: LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU Cc: Date: Friday, August 7 2009 9:55 AM Subject: TECH Librarything for Libraries I noticed recently that Librarything offers a version for libraries that can be integrated into the library's OPAC. Has anyone tried this? If so, what do you think of it? Is it expensive? Email your responses to me and I'll post a HIT list if I get enough replies.
