Job Description:
 
 All buildings in the Teays Valley Local School District
 
Other information:
1.  Salary range--0 years experience:  $18.86 per 
hour, 10 years experience:  $24.52 per hour
2.  240 contract days, 8 hours 
per day
3.  Medical / dental / life insurance available
4.  3 personal 
days
 
Qualifications & Responsibilities:
 
Provide end user support for all hardware and software including PCs, 
Printers, copiers,  interactive white boards, projectors, IP Phones, Access 
Security readers, Security Cameras, digital cameras, scanners, Windows XP, 
Novell Client, OpenOffice.org, Firefox, Internet Explorer, SB Client, etc.
 
Perform basic network troubleshooting and maintenance on Cisco and Juniper 
switches and wireless appliances.
 
Maintain wiring and fiber components and perform problem troubleshooting of 
these devices.
 
Perform basic NOS maintenance and administration on Linux.
 
Responsibilities will also include configuring and coordinating the 
installation of computers, printers, peripherals, and other hardware and 
software as directed; ensuring that new users are connected to the network; 
maintaining records on hardware, asset maintenance and installing and 
maintaining desktop software applications. Must be a team player capable of 
learning all facets of the network organization and be an energetic participant 
in the planning and execution of projects within the district.
 
Performs other duties as assigned by technology management.
 
Minimum Qualifications
 
Bachelor Degree or higher in a technology-related field, or associates 
degree in a technology field with Cisco or Novell certifications, or equivalent 
experience
Experience supporting Windows XP desktops
Knowledge of PC 
repair
Basic understanding of IP networking
Basic knowledge of 
Linux
Basic knowledge of Novell operating systems
Valid Driver License 
(must be able to travel)
Pass a state required Background Check
Ability to 
lift and move computers, televisions and peripherals weighing 50 lbs. or 
more
Strong customer service skills
Ability to deal with staff and students
Mechanical knowledge involved 
with maintenance and repair of various printers, fax machines 
Etc.
Flexibility in working hours and on ability to be on-call for network 
support
Technical writing skills
Ability to learn new technology and 
assimilate information quickly
Strong problem solving and logical 
skills
Install and maintain network cabling
Understanding of access 
security and camera methodology, control and reporting

works

Databases

Web design and 
support
Management experience  dealing with people and projects
