I am my building's AV person, and everytime I have old equipment I check
with our physics teacher. He's a pack rat and he often asks for all sorts
of odd things to use in his teaching (bowling balls, smoke detectors,
electronics, etc.). He does cool demos with the kids (including
demonstrating a bed of nails!). Things he wants from me are old remotes,
OH projectors (he cannibalizes them for the lenses), speakers, turntables,
etc. Maybe some of you in a "predicament" over how to unload old equipment
would have a science teacher you could consult....
