In researching how to remove mildew smell from my dad's old yearbooks I looked in the LM_NET archives and found the HIT by Marsha Redd on Jan 23, 2007. Among other advice it referenced a document published by SOLINET and gave the URL. But SOLINET has merged with PALINET and NELINET and is now LYRASIS so the old URL is no longer good. However, the document, titled "Invasions of the Giant Mold Spore", is now available at http://www.lyrasis.org/Preservation/Resources-and-Publications/Invasion-of-the-Giant-Mold-Spore.aspx This document has advice on how to prevent mold and mildew from forming (great information to provide your maintenance departments) as well as how to get rid of it without expensive chemical treatments. The LYRASIS Disaster Resources web page has a number of very informative documents. http://www.lyrasis.org/Preservation/Disaster-Resources.aspx Melissa ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Melissa Davis, mbdavis50@suddenlink.net Retired Librarian Conroe, Tx 77303 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
