I have always felt that EVERYONE who works in a school, from the principal,
through the teachers, aides, custodians, to the person who is in charge of
washing the pots and pans in the lunch room is a teacher. We're all role
models and many don't get thanks.

Let's look for thanks in the small things--the kids who say they've never
read a book till this year and can I get another one like it, the kids who
feel like the library is a 'safe' place to hang out before and after school,
the teacher who interrupted a class I was teaching to give me a hug because
I ordered a few books to supplement his curriculum. OK, I'll jump off the
soapbox and wish you all Happy Holidays and a joyous New Year!
