I'm reading email to catch up from being at my mother's apartment all
week to take care of her after two hospital visits and several doctor
visits as well. Her couch is nun to comfy, and no internet, so catching
up now. We will head back over there tomorrow night so no email till my
son comes back to releve me so I can go back to work. No rest for the
wicked! Ha ha ha, ho ho ho!

At the moment that we persuade a child, any child, to cross that
threshold,
that magic threshold into a library, we change their lives forever, for
the
better. ~~Barack Obama

You see, I don't believe libraries should be drab places where people
sit in
silence, and that's been the main reason for our policy of employing
wild
animals as librarians. ~~Monty Python

Happy holidays to all-- what am I doing over break? Not really reading
but
writing a weeding policy, collection devel. pol., and a web page for my
school library. I had written these for a private school 10 years ago,
and
now at a library again (after stint in another area). They do not have
these
in place- I am sure once I go through the archives I will find some
ideas to
focus on libraries' needs today as I am sure my old framework was
outdated.
If you have any ideas for a HS library (that needs a lot of weeding, but
does have new materials) - send them forth!
