Hi, In my current library, a previous librarian seems to have cataloged literary criticism by both the original author and the current author - meaning if it's a book about Charlotte Bronte, it's 823.8 BRO BER - first for Bronte and then for the author/editor of the criticism. Have any of you ever encountered this? I understand that for ease of finding literary criticism about a particular author, it would be helpful to have all the books about a particular author in the same place on the shelf but to also add the author/editor? That just seems confusing..Any thoughts? Also, under what terminology do you catalog music cds? AUD? CD? MUSIC? We currently use AUD which covers cassettes of book recordings and music, cds of books on tape and cds of music and I can't decide whether it would be better to separate them out by type - cassette/cd - or since they're all audio files of one type or another, just keep it simple and maintain the AUD designation. Again, any thoughts? Thank you!!
