Dear LM-Net Members,I just wanted to let you know about two errors I found in a book making the rounds of Scholastic Book Fairs right now. This may affect your decision regarding buying or promoting the book. It is a high interest book, and otherwise very appealing. (Perhaps it contains additional errors, but I did not read the whole book.) I have contacted Scholastic about this. Re: Wright, John D. Cryptids and other creepy creatures. Tangerine Press, 2009. ISBN 0-545-11959-6 or 978-0-545-119597. "I would like you to know that the above book contains two errors on page 11, one minor, and the other major. This section deals with the Thetis Lake Monster allegedly found on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. There is a map at the bottom left corner that purportedly shows Vancouver Island. This is incorrect. Instead the Queen Charlotte Islands, a cluster of islands far north of Vancouver Island is shown. As well, the accompanying information correctly identifies the lake’s location on the southern [part] of Vancouver Island, however the spot is labeled on the map on the northern part of the incorrect island group."
