Three other series from Thomson Gale (now Cengage Gale) that cover similar issues to Opposing Viewpoints and At Issue, but with easier reading level and lots of graphics: - Issues that concern you - Introducing Issues with Opposing Viewpoints - Writing the Critical Essay: an Opposing Viewpoints Guide Not every series covers every issue, but they're pretty extensive. Writing the Critical Essay has the fewest titles so far. “At Issue” books, also by Greenhaven Press From Reference Point Press, The Compact Research Series also has medium reading levels and lots of sidebars, graphs, diagrams, etc Gareth Stevens is putting out a new series called "Pros and Cons" which is coming out later this year for Grades 5-8. It takes key innovations and gives students both sides of the issue. There will be six in the series with more to follow. They also have a series already out for the same age group entitled " What if We Do Nothing?" Hot pro/con issues from Enslow Lucent has a series called Overview-- most are just short of 96 pages, with reading levels about 5 and 6. [note: many of these are 5+years old now] They also have a new series coming out called Hot topics-- same audience, similar reading levels. They're part of Gale now.
