HOw about full time farmer? We raise Suffolk sheep, and buy show pigs each spring
to show at the fairs all summer. This year we are actually going to farrow some
pigs. At least our son is at his house. We raise corn and soybeans as crops.
When I'm not at work, I'm out helping. Until I started subbing 23 years ago, I was
the "hired man", and did all the field work right along side my husband. Now I am
mostly limited to driving the grain truck in the fall, and doing whatever else
needs doing. By the way. My farm background is "Dad, please drive fast, it
stinks!" I was raised in a suburb of Chicago, and didn't know any better than to
marry a farmer! I got to Central Illinois by going to the University of Illinois,
and I never left.Janet Perry, Prek-12 Librarian Cerro Gordo CUSD 100, Cerro Gordo,
