Our school will be opening a preschool for 3 & 4 year olds in Sept. '09. We
are already a K-8 school. While we are not a large school, I do see students
in every grade for a total of 17 class periods per week. My certification is
K-12 - preschool was never addressed in any of my classes. If anyone has
experience with preschool programs, please e-mail off list. I am sure I will
be required to see these students and have no idea what one does with groups
of children this age.

I'd most like answers to the following questions:

1. There will be 20 students per class. Do you see this many students
all at once or are they broken into smaller groups?

2. Do the teacher and assistant stay with the students or do you see them
alone?

3. Do they come to the media center or do you do story time in their
classroom?

4. Do you allow them to check out books? If so, how many at one time?

5. How long is your class time with the preschoolers? I see my K's for 30
minutes. Do you have pre-K's this long?

I'd like to know what to expect when this starts and have something all
ready to go rather than scrambling at the last minute.

TIA.
