Many staff members in my district seek professional development courses
that are convenient (don't require miles and miles of weekly travel) and
lower cost. We've found a few sources that work well for us, but I'm
sure there must be others. I've listed the ones we know about below,
with our experiences. If you are familiar with any others, please let
me know. I'll be happy to post a list. I have taken online classes
from UW-Stout, UW-Stevens Point etc. but those were much more expensive
(very good though) and are not feasible for many teachers at the time
due to the cost.

Cal. State U. Monterey Bay: http://actprogram.info/index.html None of
us has tried out any of their courses yet. $95/grad. credit
Loyola/Marymount Enhancement Courses: http://enhancementcourses.com/
Good report from one staff member $95/grad credit
Fresno Pacific University Professional Development:
http://www.fresno.edu/cpd/ I've taken several here and was
pleased--good literature courses for library media people. $109/grad credit
University of LaVerne Professional Development Courses:
http://www.pdcourses.net/ Many staff have taken many courses here and
been pleased. $95/grad credit
