IF you have been on a block schedule (straight 4 period block) and left it, I have
a few questions. We have been on block for 14 years and are about to leave it to
save money mainly. However, we do have a lot of teachers who don't really make use
of their conference periods(90 minutes) or the full class period. They certainly
haven't increased their library usage; in fact, the history classes don't come to
the library at all.
If you can shed some light on this situation, I would appreciate it.

1. What kind of schedule did you go to after leaving the block?

2. What reasons did the school have for leaving the block?

3. Did the teachers make us of the block by using the library more? Which
departments?

4. Did grades/test scores improve on block? on regular schedule (7 period day)?

Any comments or advice you can give will be greatly appreciated.
