Hello School Media Specialists (both currently and formerly practicing):

I'll soon be teaching a class titled Information Management in Schools. The course
focuses on teaching students effective school library management principles and
practices. I'd like to have a section of my course website that includes words of
wisdom from individuals who have experience managing school libraries and I am
asking for your help.

If you are interested in contributing a comment, please send an email directly to
me (not the list) at refrankl@syr.edu<mailto:refrankl@syr.edu> responding to the
following:

1- Consider your experiences as a school librarian. Write a few sentences that
describe what important lesson(s) about managing a school library you have learned
that would be helpful for new school librarians.
2- Include your name and email address (these are only for me in case I need to
follow up and will NOT be shared with the students).
3- The type of school in which you work and the grade levels (example: private
school K-12; public elementary school).
4- Number of years you have worked as a school librarian.

Thank you in advance for your help. I'd like responses as soon as you are able to
get them to me but will gladly accept them until Sunday, 8/30/09. My complete
contact information is below.
Thank you,
Renee Franklin
