http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2009/07/drew_court/ A federal judge on Thursday overturned guilty verdicts against Lori Drew, and issued a directed acquittal on the three misdemeanor charges. This was the most ridiculous case to ever have reached a court. Lori Drew knew that her daughter Sarah and an 18 yo friend, Ashley, had created a fake profile - established in response to the fact that Megan was spreading nasty rumors about Sarah. The communications, including the nasty final ones - which was a brief nasty altercation, were primarily done by Ashley. Plus some other teen girls. Lori was not even home when this occurred. Lori should have stopped this - but she certainly was not a criminal for failing to do so. Megan's mother got angry with her when this altercation occurred and the last thing Megan said to her mother was that she was her mom and was supposed to be on her side. There were clearly other things going on in this poor child's life. http://suburbanjournals.stltoday.com/articles/2007/11/13/news/sj2tn20071110- 1111stc_pokin_1.ii1.txt http://suburbanjournals.stltoday.com/articles/2007/12/03/news/doc47543edb763 a7031547461.txt This case is an example of totally outrageous Techno-Panic. Hardly any of the information most frequently reported is accurate. Nancy -- Nancy Willard, M.S., J.D.
