[LM_NET] TAR: books about making/keeping friends for 10yr old/5th grade

I got this request from a friend. I'm in a high school and not quite sure what to 
recommend.

She's 10, slightly above grade level reading. Going into grade 5.

I'm looking for books that will share a story about a girl who brags and thinks the 
world revolves around her learns that it's not the way to make friends.  My step 
daughter's having serious issues where she thinks if she brags about what she does 
(even if she's lying!), it will make her peers like her.  It's having the opposite 
effect.  And it's been such a hard struggle lately, because while my hubby and I 
teach her one thing about this, she learns something else at home, from her mother. 
 "gotta be better, gotta be bigger..." mentality.  

If you can offer suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.
