I know that IBBY has the same concern with the number of books that are received. As a retired LMS who is still interested in being involved, perhaps YALSA could consider using retiree expertise on the committee rather than ending an outstanding resource. When I was in a library, I made it a goal to read at least 25 books from the collection each year so that I could better provide reading guidance to students and staff. To go the way of Amazon and the NYT is not only a shame but somehow seems to shirk our professional responsibility and one of the enjoyable aspects of the profession.
