Oh wise folks, I am excited and nervous! After 4 years I have left a small private school where I was the sole library staff for PreK-12 and am going to a public school district where I will be traveling between 3 K-6 elementary schools. In this district, there are 9 elementary schools and 4 media specialists. Principals make their own decisions about having a media specialist. I'd love to hear about what I *should* and *shouldn't* do when starting a new job! Also, for those of you who are on the traveling circuit, how do you do it? I will have 2 days where I don't travel but will switch buildings during the other 3 days. How do you make yourself part of the staff community at more than one building? Thanks in advance. I'll post a HIT with the advice.
