Last May I mentioned that my principal was thinking about making me the
yearbook advisor. (We haven't had a yearbook in over 7 years.) Well, I received
my schedule yesterday and I now have a yearbook/publication class during our
last block. There is no extra money for this. I know nothing about what to do.
Classes start Aug. 4. There has been no mention of workshops, new equipment,
etc., to handle the class. Also, I have Learning Virtual School students at the
same time. In addition, there are a few ELA classes during that block which
means I may have to close the library to them. (We are a very small school,
about 325 in grades 7-12.) What am I supposed to do? There is no discussion
with the principal. When her mind is made up, that's it. What will I do with
these students? I need any help any of you can give. (Also, since there is no
extra pay, I refuse to stay after school to "do" yearbook.)
