Personally, I love to read Patty Lovell's Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon. It highlights self-confidence in the face of teasing. Terrifically engaging illustrations, humor, and a positive message make this one a winner for me. I read it every year to several different grade levels. Now not only does everyone know that you are a dog, they know what kind of a dog you are, who you run with, where you hide your bones, the accidental piddle behind the couch, the fight you got into with the boxer, and your thoughts on the hot poodle down the street." -- Nancy Willard >>> "Monica A. Ages 5-9 would be the grade level. Any suggestions? Thanks so much in advance.
