When I started my job last month, the library's collection was tiny so I'm
adding to it. My problem right now is the placement of the books' barcodes.
The original collection had the barcodes placed on the back cover, parallel
to the spine, about an inch out. However, this positioning means the
barcodes cover part of the writing on the back cover. They make it almost
impossible to read the book synopsis. So my question is: should I keep
placing barcodes this way on the new books I've ordered or should I move
them to a better location? How important is having the barcodes in the same
location for check-out/inventory/etc?
