Happy summer to all of you, An English teacher has asked me to help find a novel for an 11th grade Communications class. The dominant theme he'd like the book to include "personal responsibility and pursuit of truth in a postmodern, or anything-goes, world." Some of the readings that came closest were "Measure for Measure" (Shakespeare) and "Life of Pi." Ideally, he'd like a modern book written by a non-American author, and it should be, beyond just being a good story, have literary merit...because this will be the novel every junior in Communications reads. I'd love any suggestions. This is my first "official" year in our HS so I would love to be of help and impress this teacher :-). Lois Lois E.
