[LM_NET] New YA Novel: Secrets of Truth and Beauty by Megan Frazer

My friend and colleague, Megan Frazer, has just published her first book. In 
addition to being a talented author, she is an incredible high school librarian in 
Maine.   

 

The book is about Dara, a high school student at Portland Academy.  After a falling 
out with her parents over an "misinterpreted" English autobiography project, Dara 
connects with her estranged older sister, Rachel. Dara leaves home to live with 
Rachel on Jezebel farm for the summer; her experiences on the farm lead Dara to 
find her "center", her confidence, and people who understand her. 

 

The characters in Secrets of Truth and Beauty are smart, sassy, and funny. If your 
students like John Green, Maureen Johnson, or Sarah Dessen, they will like Meg's 
book.
