Here is an idea for those of you who wish to be able to read on the
job: advocate for the library to host an alternative recess destination
for students interested in participating in silent reading after lunch.
Students could choose the option either once or twice a week (depending
on the population of your school and the library's capacity). This will
permit the students to do more reading and you, too. You will be reading
to further your own knowledge of literature and to role model the
correct behavior for those that attend. Who could possibly grumble at
you for encouraging reading and being a good role model all at the same
time?
