LM_NET Archive

A few years ago, our seniors had a great plan. They went all over the local area -
actually within about a 100 mile radius and "borrowed" all the lawn gnomes they
could find. They brought them to school; put them on desks, chairs, in the
library, cafeteria, commons - and those things were EVERYWHERE. The principals
office had about 40 in there to surprise him and start the day. The school was
resplendent with gnomes. Most of us found it to be hilarious, only a few community
members were NOT amused. By the end of the first day, out of nearly 1,000 gnomes,
only 3 were not back at their "residences". The other three did make it home
eventually. I had called dibs on any unclaimed and left over gnomes but got home
empty handed. I felt it was a funny thing, as did nearly everyone else.

Subject: Re: venting: Thanks!

My daughter is a senior this year. She was telling me last week that for senior
prank this year, they were going to rope off a small portion of the parking lot,
and fill it with grills for the morning. Then at lunch everyone was going to grill
hot dogs and hamburgers and enjoy each other's company one last time.
But someone told one of the principals, and they stopped it. I thought it was a
very nice way to end their school year! Their last day is Friday, so why not enjoy
it while they can!
I agree that some pranks get out of hand. Kudos to the librarian who steered the
kids into the right pranks!
