Maybe too late for the thread but there is a letter in the latest SLJ decrying the
term
teacher-librarian. I don't quite get how "horrible that sounds." I've kind of
taken to calling
myself a Library Teacher when introducing myself to non-school folks. They almost
always comment or
ask something to the effect "you TEACH?" or "what do you teach?" If I just say
librarian, they
assume I'm "their mothers' librarian" and just reshelve books.
