Thanks to all who tried to help. Pat, you are always wonderful. My original post: A staff member has to review the literature about how children are affected by the poor relationship of their mother and grandmother (not a mother-in-law). Any good suggestions or leads? There were more requests than responses: Does your teacher have access to a college library? She will probably find tons of stuff in academic databases if there is anything written on the subject. Also, go to the library of congress catalog.loc.gov and search under the subject heading "mothers and daughters" and you will find 250 books on the subject. Thanks Marilyn- would look into Reactive Attachment Disorder. This is a disorder caused by trauma in the first two years of life. One of the most important is a bad relationship with the mother, being abandoned or abused by the mother. I have a lot of information on this. The staff member changed her topic since she could not find enough information. It is definitely a topic of interest to many who asked for hits. Have a great summer, my dear fellow searchers of knowledge.
