I generally turn it off at night and leave it on sleep while I am at home and am
apt to keep picking it up and putting it down. I had to recharge after four days.
The instructions also say that you can conserve the battery by turning off the
ethernet while you are not using it.

They say in their advertising that the battery charge lasts for three
weeks, I am not sure under what conditions they are referring.
I have changed my unit twice.
If you read with it and just put it on "sleep mode" when you are
finished reading, the battery life for me has been two days.
I have not tried totally turning off the unit between readings. Will
do that after the next charging.
