[LM_NET] update on 3rd grade skills

Dear LM Netters,

I just wanted to update everybody on my plans to address the needs of my 3rd 
graders. Remember , they have not had any elementary library experience and will be 
heading to the school district from a small charter school next year.

I plan on spending the remainder of the year : addressing reference tools( atlas, 
dictionary, encyclopedia) how to use index, table of contents , etc. , teaching 
them as much as I can about the Dewey system, showing them other library catalogs 
and how to search using an on-line OPAC,and I have purchased the Mr. Crumb's Secret 
that was recommended to teach research ( by Upstart).

Really I just want to say thank you again to this wonderful group.
Your suggestions were not taken lightly, and I have printed out all of the 
suggestions for future reference.
