Anne,

I think this is a subject all of us struggle with especially now with
severe budget cuts. No one around here reads anything but People. One
teacher uses The Week in his class and the dance teacher requires her
kids to use Dance. Okay, so that's 3 magazines that I see that are being
used! I hate these useless periodicals but I'm afraid to get rid of
them, but so many of the articles are now available full-text in the
databases. I hope everyone chimes in on this issue because I, for one,
am at a loss! Keep, get rid of, keep, get rid of . . . .

Subject: Target: Ordering Magazines

I recently received my reorder form from my vendor to reorder magazines
for
next year. Most of the magazines I order never have been checked out.
Students aren't interested in Cricket, or Ladybug, or Calliope and
neither
are the teachers. I hate to spend money on titles no one reads. National
Geographic is a library standard but I'm the only one who reads it. Has
anyone severely cut back on the magazines they order? If so, what did
you
keep that circulates. I feel I'm wasting money purchasing magazines no
one
uses.

TIA.
