[LM_NET] HIT: Managing Series of Books

Thank you to all who responded to my request for ways to manage all those
series.

Here is a summary of the responses I received:

Managing Series

Number on the spine
Numbered dot on spine
Number on spine label
Series name and number at the top of the spine
Letter then number i.e. S 1 = Stormbreakers #1 on spine
Write series number on title page
Shelve according to last name
Shelve chronologically
Keep separate shelf for or area for series
Notebook listing series order at desk
Post order list on the shelves near series
Posters 8.5 x 11” that list series order
Bookmarks that list series order
Notes to refer students to similar series “If you enjoy _______, try
_______.
Include series # in Title/Cataloging
Add series number to field 245 in  MARC record
Add series number in 440 or 490 field of MARC record
