We hosted Jim Aylesworth for a five-day visit at our school last week, and I'd like to recommend him to any other schools out there in search of a visiting author for Elementary School. All our students, especially those in lower primary, immediately loved Jim. He puts a big emphasis on connecting with the students, and having fun with them, and sharing his experiences as a teacher as well as an author. It was a joy to have him, and our entire elementary school is still buzzing about the experience. If you have any more questions, feel free to contact me directly. You can also find out more about Jim Aylesworth from his website at: oldfly@ayles.com By the way, we're also on the lookout for a middle and/or high school author for 2009-2010, if you have any leads. It's a little tougher to make arrangements for an international author visit, but we've had lots of great success in the recent past, and we're eager to keep that going.
