[LM_NET] Target> fiction for middle school

We are doing some planning for summer. A teacher wants to assign just one book for 
all in-coming 6th graders to read over the summer, one book for all the rising 7th 
graders, and one for the rising 8th graders. They would then do some sort of 
writing assignment in the fall when they got back to school (I think). Would you 
mind sharing your recommendations with me?
