Thanks to all for all the responses in agreement and disagreement in terms of series books being "banned..." our real problem is lack of selection overall, and while I understand teachers wanting kids to "branch out" it kills me when I see a kid saddened that he can't read the next Jack and Annie. I just want kids to read, period! I do let them get 2 books, but now some teachers want them to have 2 AR "on-level" books. I guess I'll just let them get 3 so they can still get one they really want to read. I wish I didn't hate AR so much...I understand its purpose but it gets over and mis-used. Won't get on that soapbox though...Thanks again, I always appreciate all the input from this group as I'm new at and still learning this job! -- Meagan Newberry, Librarian West Yellowstone School West Yellowstone, MT oldberry@gmail.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
