>>> SARAH ROYAL 03/18/09 9:34 AM >>> Danielle, Where is Hammond High School? I'm enjoying hearing from the different states. In answer to your request, I've learned that there is no directory of schools interested in Skyping, although if you Google it, you'll find some random lists. I've heard from a few schools across the country that are interested in a Skyping session: Arkansas, Montana, New York and Massachusetts. So far, we've scheduled a Skype session with the school in Massachusetts for tomorrow. It will be a weather comparison and contrast lesson between two second grade classes using the media center as the central location. The schools that responded are below. I've copied and pasted their emails. ================ "I don't know of a directory but I would be interested in doing such a project with you." Cindy Glavin Library Media Specialist/Computer Teacher Big Timber, MT, theglavins@hotmail.com =================== "No, I don't know of such a list. I would love to know of one if you find it. Also, my kids might be interested in Skyping with your kids. I'm in Arkansas." "Stephanie Labert" <sdlabert@mvtel.net> =================== "Please post a hit or notify me off-list if you get a response - I would love to hear about it! I had a few responses when I posted a month or so ago trying to set up a Skype conference for 9th graders, so there is definitely interest. I was thinking about trying to set something like this up. Thanks very much," Rebecca Buerkett MLIS student, Syracuse University Intern, Lake Placid Middle/High School, Lake Placid, NY Rbuerkett@roadrunner.com ============================ "Sarah, This sounds interesting! We're a K-6 school of 160 students in rural western Massachusetts. Skype name: sesskype01 Would love to have our students in contact with others."
