Thank you all for your great ideas! I knew I could count on you. My
original query was looking for websites to give to a parent that offer
book reviews of YA material written by adults/parents/professionals etc.
Here's what I got:

Amazon.com has a lot of reviews by adults under the "editorial reviews"
section which includes professional reviews from Library Journal,
Publishers Weekly and Booklist

http://www.factsonfiction.org/content/detailedreport.aspx

You may want her to look at mine...

www.mullersreviews.com  It is written for librarians.. but each "review"
is short and sweet."

http://www.teenreads.com is a great site for reviews.  It also offers a
lot of other fun features and keeps you informed on the latest YA books
coming out.  The kids like the site too because it offers fun facts,
polls, and all sorts of other things.

Does your state subscribe to a magazine database like Gale Infotrac?
Ours has Book Review Index Plus  that would be useful to your parent.

I am in the process of developing a site called abookandahug.com that
parents will be able to use (hopefully) to find a book that "works" for
their child/young adult.

I'm hoping the site will launch in a month or so. I'm writing all the
annotations at this point and will be getting other
parents/librarians/teachers to help me beef up the site in the future.

Check school library journal, booklist and VOYA online for their reviews,
which are the same as titlewave book reviews : )

Children's Literature Network

I would highly recommend Teri Lesene's blog at
http://professornana.livejournal.com/Â Teri is a professor at Sam Houston
State Univ, and is a presenter at many ALA, YALSA, etc functions.

Amazon.com has editorial reviews for most of their books.  I'd give your
parent a quick run down of the various journals (Publishers Weekly is NOT
a real journal, but a marketing tool) and send her there.

Esme Codell has a good site ([ http://www.planetesme.com/
]www.planetesme.com/), chock full of reviews, and ReadKiddoRead
(http://www.readkiddoread.com/home) has a growing number of mostly new
books reviewed.

You might send her to Shelfari ([ http://www.shelfari.com/
]www.shelfari.com), Good Reads ([ http://www.goodreads.com/
]www.goodreads.com)Â or Common Sense Media ([
http://www.commonsensemedia.org/about-us/our-mission
]http://www.commonsensemedia.org/about-us/our-mission)

That last one is for parents concerned about content in movies, literature
etc., so it has a LOT of different resources, but they are sort of
Christian skewed.

Goodreads ( [ http://www.goodreads.com/ ]www.goodreads.com )was put
together as a site to share your favorite books and reviews with friends,
but you can also just click through the site and read reviews left by
other people.  The problem is that they are often not listed as
librarians. If she's just looking for reviews by normal people, this could
be the place- people are very honest about what they think. Just enter the
title of the book, click on it, and scroll down to see reviews.  You do
not have to log in or create an account in order to read reviews.
