Wow a hot topic for sure. Of course I am going to approach this from a
Private Christian Academy Perspective. But this is the wrong
interruption of the separation of church and state discussion. It is
proper for anyone to carry a Bible to school. If they are going to deny
this right then they must deny the same right to other things as well.
The constitution only says that the government can not form a religion
it does not say we can't carry our Bibles to School, work, etc. I would
challenge those staff member to site the rule as written by the school
board. They are the ones who truly govern the district and district
policies. Then to lay that rule against the constitution of the United
States and see where it measures up.

Subject: Reading the Bible on public school campus

We have a Bible Lit class at our school. Several of the students in the
class have been bringing their bibles and reading during the day (as
well as others that I see regularly). It appears they are only reading
for their own knowledge or for the class. They have been told by several
staff members that they are not allowed to do this on school campus.

I have my thoughts on this as well as information that I have on file
but I just want to get some feedback from others on this issue.
