[LM_NET] GEN: Need help with title

Hi All,
        Yesterday a high school junior came to me and asked if I could help  
her find a book she loved in elementary school.  Even though I'm a  
high school librarian, I thought I was fairly knowledgeable with  
children's books, but this one has me stumped.  Here is what she can  
remember:

-a boy has two uncles who are archeologists and they are apparently  
some dig somewhere
-the boy falls down a hole and there is a river at the bottom of the  
hole
-The student thinks she remembers something about dinosaurs in the  
story, and she says this book is where she learned what clay is as  
used by archeologists.

Anyone remember anything like that?
