First, I want to apologize for how long it has taken me to post this HIT.
My wife and I recently purchased a house and between that and staying very
busy with library functions it fell through the cracks. Secondly, I wanted
to note that a number of people sent in their suggestions, but I have
removed their information and duplicate suggestions to save space as I will
need to break this HIT into several parts. Thank you to all who sent in
their suggestions and I hope this list will be helpful for others in the
future.

*Figgs and Phantoms* by Ellen Raskin - It's an older book (1970s), a novel,
and it would only work for an imaginative and intelligent kid (maybe 10-14
years of age?) but Ellen

Raskin's "Figgs and Phantoms" is one of the best books I have ever come

across that addresses grief and processing grief, as the lead character,

Mona Lisa Figg, must do when her beloved uncle dies. I know this

probably isn't what you were looking for based on a couple details in

your e-mail, but I can't recommend the book enough.

I also created a list of books on death for kids on my blog.

here's the link, there are 19 titles:
