I'm replying to the group as a whole on this topic because I intended to mention
our author visit back in February and forgot. Our book club read Trouble by Gary
Schmidt and because we are lucky enough to live in his area, we took a field trip
to Calvin College where he teaches. He met with us for over 2 hours and the
students were captivated. The students loved him. I know he does school visits.
Actually he is on the road frequently. Many of our students have enjoyed his award
winner, The Wednesday Wars. I can't recommend him highly enough.
