Hello 'Netters, After the Advanced Placement (AP) exams over the next couple of weeks, I'd like to work with our AP students to show them some of our online databases and other Web resources they can use. I've gotten a positive response from the AP Government teacher, whose students will most likely be taking Advanced Placement United States History (APUSH) next year. Our APUSH teacher hasn't been very cooperative, so I don't know what the curriculum involves. In addition to showing them our history database (ABC-CLIO), EBSCO's Academic Search Premier, and a couple of others, can anyone recommend Web sites that APUSH students have successfully used for research? I was also thinking of doing some kind of Internet & library scavenger hunt with these students; has anyone done this before? (Our students, even honors and AP students, are sadly lacking in information-seeking skills.) And, on the same note: has anyone had success with Mackin or another jobber creating a list of books to supplement the APUSH curriculum? We have very little; and again, I haven't been able to connect with the APUSH teacher. Please send information directly to me; if there is interest, I can post a hit.
