I've said it before, but it may have been on my state librarians' listserv: The
most empowering advocacy step for me was (this year) getting a webpage and posting
my lesson summaries. All year long I've been gently pointing teachers, parents,
students and even relatives to it. (Truly,I have been tactful!) Previously I
wondered "DON'T THEY KNOW THAT/WHAT I TEACH?!?" Now I have a starting spot.
And it's been a tool for myself too; to reflect, before writing, upon what are the
most important aspects of my role in the school.
