I totally agree with Tom! You cannot possibly provide the same level of
service with the loss of an assistant who works 20 hours per week. You need to
demonstrate what will NOT happen without the proper level of support. Our
school district is going through a similar scenario-all of our elementary
libraries will lose their aide time (some are full time and some are part
time). We prepared documents of all that the aides do. You should meet with
administrators to let them know that the library will not be exactly the
same as it was;not in a threatening way but administrators need to be
"educated" as to what librarians do each day to serve large and diverse
populations.
