Hi It's time for me to weed and do inventory and I'm always in a dilemma about what to pitch and what to keep and what to replace. Is there a resource that lists "classics" that elementary libraries should always have? Should I replace my tired-looking copies of the Beverly Cleary books (for example) or keep them and use my limited budget on newer titles? I think books circulate better if they have a fresh cover, but I have a limited budget and might should purchase books by newer authors. How about Arthur (Marc Brown) books? Curious George? They're well read. How do you handle replacing copies?
