Before we crucify them based on a report on a TV station's website --

Looking at the Galveston ISD Technology Plan 2005-2008
http://www.gisd.org/1635102611936133/lib/1635102611936133/GALVESTON_ISD_Technology_Plan_2005_-_2008.pdf

shows that they have had an electronic video library, United
Streaming, and PBS Chalkwaves since 2004.

Now I don't know that the "movies" reported by Channel 11 came from
these educational sources - but I don't know that they didn't either.
All we know is the article says "movies". (And isn't it interesting
that a Dallas station is reporting this from 288 miles away - and the
web article is attributed to AP!)

Reporters tend to use words that are semantically loaded to elicit a
strong response, much like kids when asked by their parents what they
did in school today. How many of your students went home today and
told their parent they "watched a movie" when what they actually saw
was a National Geographic special about (insert any science or social
studies topic here!)

Galveston has had enough trouble this year. They do not need us piling on!
